Supergirl is a super heroine from DC Comics. This name used by female super-heroes involved with Superman and the Superman Family. The original version is Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin from the planet Krypton. Supergirl was created by Otto Binder and Al Plastino, first appearing in Action Comics #252. (1959)
